This is a page where I introduce my children's paternal ancestors. I have been researching these families for over forty-five years and it seems a shame not to have a space for some of the fascinating stories that I have found, especially as others too descend from those I will write about. If a name is highlighted in red, there's a corresponding story. The stories can be found here.

The diagram above includes all the surnames of my children' direct paternal ancestors back to and including, their 5x great grandparents. The larger surnames are the more recent generations.

My children's father, his parents and his grandparents were all born in Surrey but none of my husband's great-grandparents were born in Surrey. They came from seven different counties, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Worcestershire, Yorkshire, Gloucestershire, Devon and Aberdeenshire in Scotland. If you go back another generation, Guernsey in the Channel Islands, is added to the list. Further back still, there are direct ancestors in Monmouthshire and Berkshire and some of the Channel Islander families were from France.
