More from the Other Side on Granny's Tales

This month, I have added another story from the 'Other Side'; this time about the Few family, who originated in eighteenth century Wiltshire, before moving to Reading and later, Croydon. Other surnames mentioned are: Barrett, Burgess, Farr, Gilbert, Hapgood, Kember, Kent, Richardson, Shipley and Smith. You can access the story here.

I've also uploaded some memories of the various kinds of voluntary work that I've done since I was fourteen. There are two distinct themes, child-related work and roles involving history or family history, with a few miscellaneous jobs thrown in. I've had to redact some names and leave out some incidents, which are not for public consumption. There are also very few photographs as the ones that I have include other people, often children, so it wouldn't be appropriate to post those. I have included a full account of my Neolithic house-building experiences, to try to liven it up a bit. You will find this on the Memories page.
